THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN OBWAMI BWA BUKONZO KINGDOM AND OTHER KINGDOMS IN THE AFRICAN COUNTRY OF THE REPUBLIC OF UGANDA.
Our beloved followers, and other comrades in the struggle, the prevailing truth remains that, as an African country, the Republic of Uganda has monarchical societies, each with its own historical background.
European Anthropologists classified some of African societies as centralized monarchically, with Hereditary Rulers – Kings, and have a higher level of cultural development. And indeed, the pride of the hereditary Rulers, makes the country of Uganda to remain known as a culturally, and politically State – nation on the African continent.
The British who also have a monarch, had a soft spot for monarchs elsewhere – the country of Uganda inclusive. And as a matter of fact, during the British colonial time, the 4 Kingdoms of Buganda, Tooro, Bunyoro and Ankole, were ruled and governed under special imperial Treaties, while other societies were not accorded this status.
The fact remains that, in Uganda of the present time, each Kingdom is named after the tribal name of its ethnic people. For instance, Buganda Kingdom, Tooro Kingdom, Bunyoro Kingdom and Ankole Kingdom belongs to Baganda, Batooro, Banyoro and Banyankole ethnic communities respectively. The people in these communities speak Luganda language, Rutooro language, Runyoro language and Runyankole languages respectively as their tribal dialect or mother tongue (vernacular).
Then, Bukonzo Kingdom belongs to Bakonzo ethnic community. The people in this community speaks Lhukonzo language as their tribal dialect or mother tongue (vernacular).
Each Kingdom in Uganda has a tribal Territory with clearly demarcated geographical ethnic boundaries. The struggle for a tribal esteem of each ethnic community is always rotating around the ethnic language – the tribal dialect or mother tongue.
WHERE IS RWENZURURU KINGDOM OF THE BANYARWENZURURU OF OBUSINGA BWA RWENZURURU AND WHICH VERNACULAR LANGUAGE DO THEY SPEAK AS THEIR MOTHER TONGUE OR TRIBAL DIALECT?
As it has always been explained, “Banyarwenzururu” – the followers of the so far twice pardoned Ex Rebel leader, Charles Kisembo mumbere – are defined as the people, who believe and cherish “Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu (OBR)” irrespective of ETHNIC ORIGIN, tribe, language affiliation, and geographical location. That, they voluntarily subscribe to the objectives of the “OBR”, with the line of “Obusinga’’ has no Geographical location. That, “Obusinga” covers every community of people who subscribe to it wherever that community may be, irrespective of distance. That, there is a historical precedence of such an arrangement. They quote an example of AGAKHAN, whose 15 million subjects are scattered over 25 different countries of the World – the country of Uganda.
OBWAMI BWA BUKONZO KINGDOM COOPERATES WITH OTHER KNOW CULTURAL INSTITUTIONS IN UGANDA AND BEYOND.
His Highness, Crown Prince Swaleh Tibamwenda Basikania, says that, Obwami Bwa Bukonzo (OBB) Kingdom will always make deliberate efforts to cooperative with other cultural institutions both locally, and internationally; for mutual benefits. This is especially necessary because, many Bakonzo ethnic people live in geographical areas which are under other cultural institutions.
Crown prince says that, OBB Kingdom will always encourage partnership with other cultural institutions, especially in development, and other areas of mutual interest, to fulfil the aspirations of the Bakonzo ethnic community.
He further states that, OBB Kingdom will always promote, and preserve socio cultural institutions of the Bakonzo ethnic community, research on, compile, teach, and preserve the history, traditions, language, values, customs and culture of the Bakonzon ethnic community. The Kingdom shall always promote and enhance self-consciousness, and tribal identity of the Bakonzo ethnic people. And that there will always be good relationship between OBB Kingdom, and other Kingdoms in Uganda.
